‘Spring’ was Jos Devriendt’s fifth exhibition at the gallery in Brussels. For this occasion Devriendt showcased a new series of 'Night and Day lamps', continuing his playful exploration of natural and artificial light; matte, shiny, white and colourful glazes. These unique light sculptures are the result of a search for an archetype that keeps its sculptural qualities during day and night. By building an electrical element it allows the sculpture to seemingly transform itself through light and shadow. During the daytime they work as a sculpture and at night as light objects. Devriendt's latest series is his personal expression of a longing for joyful and better times.
