Thaddeus Wolfe

American, born in 1979
Lives and works in Brooklyn, New York

In his pieces, Thaddeus Wolfe exposes a non-traditional approach to the classical glass techniques he studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Wolfe's making process is highly individual - combining chance and improvisation with a strong understanding of existing glass blowing techniques.
The artist creates single-use plaster moulds which he fills with hand-blows molten glass mixed with pigments and inclusions of other matter. His rough and monolith glass vases and lamps display a spectacular range of textures and colours, with rough surfaces strongly inspired by architecture, nature and mineral forms.
